Glass Cullet

Glass cullet is composed of damaged or unusable glass products and glass waste, arising from or forming from glass products. Collected and pre-prepared glass cullet can be used as:

• one component of the charge to the furnace
• raw material for production of glass fibers and mats and insulation panels
• raw material for production of foam glass
• raw material for glass beads
• raw material for grits to render
• addition to the ceramic
• addition to the polishes cleaners

Construction uses, and can use significant amounts of color grits. Because glass cullet can be obtained by colors: green, brown, white. It is known from its very beneficial influence cullet as a component of ceramic: it lowers the firing temperature and improves the technical performance of product. However it is appropriate to its use in other areas of ceramics, where the cost of certain raw materials replaced by cullet is higher. A good example might be to replace the clay meal with a glass of similar grain size, which improves the frost resistance of tiles and reduces their penetrability.
